3rd Annual Descendant’s Day

This year’s Annual Descendant’s Day will take place at James Monroe’s Highland on Saturday, June 8th from 11am to 4pm. Take Them in Families will have a table there, along with many other local research partners such as Emily Stanfill’s work documenting the enslaved families sold from Monroe’s Oak Hill to Louisiana, and the Albemarle Charlottesville Historical Society‘s work connecting with descendants of the enslaved buried in Charlottesville’s Pen Park. Descendant’s Day is free and open to the public. You can register for this event by following the link below.
